Creamer and Lloyd

What inspires us

Everything we experience forms a part of who we are and what we do and therefore what we offer.  We rely heavily on the arts to inspire us and this is critical to us as individuals as well as a business.

Everyone at Creamer and Lloyd has their own budget for research and inspiration.  On a regular basis we share on our website the best experiences we’ve had.

  1. Late afternoon in the Sagrada Familia

Just as the sun set and the tourists buses departed, we had this vast building to ourselves. The heavily ornamented spires with their constant guard of cranes hide a stunning space of soaring gilded ceilings and coloured glass.

  2. Galle Fort Printers

A beautiful private hotel that has been carefully and sensitively restored. It also has a fantastic chef.

  3. Jaffna and the A9

After 30 years of conflict, the Northern shores of Sri Lanka are open to persistent tourists. If you get permission from the MOD you can drive and we did.

  4. Chor Bazaar, Mumbai

We walk in to shops where Ollie hasn't been for a year. And it's as if they've been waiting for him all this time. Not a beat is missed, conversations resume, chai is brought out. The thread of the relationship is not broken by distance or time.

  5. Loch Sunart: Room 13 Summer School

Low tide would reveal a golden kelp. But I didn't know there were so many golds. Every day I waited for the water to go.

  6. Tourettes sur Loup in Provence

Ignore the coast (Nice, Cannes, Antibes) and head inland to the hill villages of which this is one. Fantastic views, unspoilt streets, shaded squares with boules in progress, artists at work in their studios, great little restaurants.

  7. Beirut

A city that has reinvented itself despite the actions of its neighbours.

  8. Low season in Tossa de Mar

Crowdless walk up the castle, griddled squid with chopped garlic and parsley and a glass of local white wine. Low season in la Costa Brava is a wonderful thing.

  9. Oslo

Unexpectedly fabulous food. The interactivity in the Nobel Peace Centre was superb. We delighted in what it did as well as what it said.

  10. Tuscany in the Autumn

Never been this time of year. The vines glow gold. The olive wood bonfires smell sweet
